Document Checklist for Canadian Immigration by Program | ImmigraCan

Having all your documents organized is essential for a successful immigration application. Documents vary by program, but some are required in almost all of them.

Documents Common to Express Entry

  • Valid passport (at least 6 months of validity beyond the application date)
  • Language test result (IELTS/CELPIP/TEF — valid for 2 years)
  • Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) for diplomas obtained outside Canada
  • Proof of work experience (employment letters, pay stubs, contract)
  • Settlement funds (proof of funds — minimum CAD 13,310 for a single person)
  • Medical exam (IRP 1017 — performed by an IRCC-designated physician)
  • Police clearance certificate (federal + Interpol for countries resided in for more than 6 months)
